There is a lot of talk of cleaning cages. After all, it is a basic and necessary part of taking care of our sweet babies. This got me wondering. Just how many guinea pig cages does everybody have?
I have 5: 3 2X4's, 1 2X3, and 1 3X4. |

2: 2x5
1:2x3.5
1: 2.5x4
However I'm going to free range my office upstairs probably next week so one 2x5 and the 2.5x4 will be combined.
If you count other cages we have a 60 gallon aquarium for the snake, a 20 gallon for the gecko, and a 20 gallon for the beardie.
Oh and a rabbit pen. |

I'm moving this to the Housing forum.
I have two 3x4's, a 2x5 (not currently used) and another folded 2x5 at my MIL's house for when we bring pigs with us. |

We have two. A 2x4 with a 1x1 loft and a 2x4 foldable for floortime/travel.
The boys share a room with Dayna and their pen will be reconfigured after we finish building her a loftbed (fullsized) and moved underneath the bed. I'm hoping to go to a 2x5 with a bigger loft or maybe a 3x5. I will have to post pictures when it's all complete. |

2 2x4 (I bought a table that holds a cage on top and has room for one to be placed under neath.
I then have a 2x2 with a pregnant sow and another foster in.
Hopefully by this time next month I will have shelving unit cages like Erin's. |

I currently have two males living in a 2x6 and two females living in a 2x5.
The 2x6 cage had three males until recently.
Both cages are stacked 3 grids high with a second-level storage area like the one I posted in the other thread.
That 2x4x3 cage hasn't been in use since Brownie died, but it's still here. |

Technically I have one that is a 2x3.5 with a 1.5x3.5 loft. We designed it so that the ramp could be pulled up and the loft turned into a weekend cage for Momma and BB when they are here.
However, Momma and BB have been here for several weeks while we get Momma regulated on her heart meds, and they may stay permanently *sends up a prayer*. If they do stay then we may have to reconfigure things so that they all have a little more room.
We also have a floortime cage that can make as large as a 6x3, or a 5x3 that is divided. We try to give them a lot of time in there right now. |

My personal pigs are in a 2x6 (And need cleaning!)
The fosters are in three 2.5 foot by 9 foot cages, divided in half to form a total of 6 compartments, and two 2 foot by 4 foot cages.
Not in use are four other 2 foot by 4 foot cages and 3 slightly smaller cages (just over 7.5 square feet).
Ummm, I think that is all! My newest volunteer is in my TOWN! She has a neice who is going to come once a week and help me clean cages! Plus, she is taking a foster on trial and if it works out, she is going to foster my quarantine piggies, since she does not have any of her own . . . how cool is that!? |

Awesome! Volunteers are always nice.
We don't do animal rescue but we run a ministry that feeds homeless and needy families. We got a volunteer a while back who loves to cook and is cooking our Thursday nite main dish for us. After 9 years of cooking it mostly ourselves, it is wonderful to have the help. |

| Amy, how do you fit all those cages in your home? I know Erin has the condos. Do you do something similar? |

One icky yucky pet store cage that I hope I'll never have to get out from the storage room (other than as a transport cage that is).
One cage that is a 2x5 on the lower level with a 2x3 loft and a 2x1 loft. |

The cage condos are weird dimensions - so I cant really tell you specific X by X. But there are 2 - then the floor. Also I have a petstore cage on the floor/freerange area that the boys love to go hang out it. Its near the parking garage/snack bar.

My pigs
1 - 2x4 with 2-1x2 lofts on either end.
Soon to be fosters
1-2x3 However, once they enter teh house of compulsive remodeling, I will have to expand their current cage and ad a loft or something. It's a sickness. I just can't help myself. |

| I made my piggy condos today. I used Erin's shelving idea. We now have 4 - 2x4 cages. Well, actually only 3 are finished. I ran out of zip ties and coroplast. But, now everyone is housed in a central location. I also still need to put up the rope lighting to set the mood. |

Cages:
I have a 3x4 with 4 sows in it.
I have a 2x2 with the new boar in it.
Plus I have the playpen, but I use it more for outside or blocking off one entrance to the kitchen or the living room for floortime. I also have the kiddie pool which the girls are in temporarily because of ants in the coroplast. The girls will be in their remodeled c&c by the end of the week. |
