Finally, we brought Jack back to the vet today, finally got the xray, and he has one. Now, the vet says that he wants him on baytril for two weeks before he has it removed, and Dr. Stiffy said that he's done them before. Does this sound right?

LeighAnn, do you have a previous thread on Jack? I would hate to make a suggestion without having all the info.

I've never heard of waiting 2 weeks before removing a stone.
The stone could grow bigger or move to a difficult spot for it to be removed.
My vet has only waited a day or two to schedule surgery.
